Summer Reading Program 2010
The Little Campus Mon - Fri 9-12 or 9-3
Pre-School Power - Available to children ages 2.8 - 5 years. Pre-school Power continues the current TLC campus experience by focusing on Phonics, Math, Science, Art, Dramatic Play, Science, Cooking, Outdoor Water Play, and Music and Movement. All children must be potty trained. Ask about a rate continuing your current schedule or a daily rate.

Mornings on Main
Mon - Fri, 9am to 12noon - $150/week
Pre-1st Prep -(age 5 - 6). Pre-1st Prep incorporates Phonics, Math, Writing, Art, and Music. Kindergarten introduction with fun thematic learning. Helpful to familiarize the student with elementary school before the school year.
First Grade Prep - (age 6- 7). 1st Prep incorporates Phonics, Math, Writing, Art, and Music. This program is designed to build on the reading and math and to familiarize the student with elementary school before the traditional school year.
* Kids In the Kitchen - (age 6 & up). Yum, yum, yum for the tummy! Roll up your sleeves, get ready to chop, mix and measure your way through summer! Join Mrs. Ferrall for an exciting cooking class. A fun safe and educational class where your child will learn basic cooking skills, recipes, baking and work safety in the kitchen. Explore creative food ideas in meal preparation while encouraging a life-long appreciation for healthy eating. Located at TLC starting at 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.
$190 a week, supplies are included.Leap Ahead - (age 7 & up). Leap Ahead reinforces the concepts in Phonics, Literature, Writing, Math, Computers, and Science, in a creative and hands-on environment. All subjects will be taught daily. Great Literature. Great readings. Great sharing. Using Junior Great Books, discover the fun and excitement of literature and share with friends.
Mornings on Main
Older ages (9 and up) Mon - Fri, 9am to 12noon - $190/week, supplies are included. For our older students looking for summer activities they will enjoy.
Financial/Fit/Computers -(age 9 & up). Three classes every morning FINANCIALLY FIT – Economics 101 for kids. Learn how to save, spend, and run a store. Benefits of a strong financial background can last a lifetime. PHYSICALLY FIT - Physically fit is a lifelong skill all kids need to learn. We must play every day. COMPUTERS-SEE ME ON THE WEB! – (age 9 & up). Learn all the latest with web cams, digital photography, web building and safe and responsible internet use.

Kidscape Drama - (ages 6 & up). KidScape Productions is a professional acting program which strengthens important skills such as Self Esteem, Self Confidence, and Presentation Skills. Through Improvisational Acting, KidScape Productions teaches students to develop these skills and equip them to make the most of the process. Our curriculum helps participants have complete trust in their abilities through engaging repetition and a whole lot of FUN! Showcase each Friday
at 2pm. Class is from 10 am – 3 pm. $175 a week. Pack a lunch.
Afternoons on Main - All ages Mon-Fri 12:00-3:00 - $70/wk
Afternoon Camp - Students who stay past noon need to pack a lunch and they will have outdoor play. Students may pick an afternoon specialty class and will also enjoy Arts & Crafts, Computers, Sports, and Games. These afternoon activities are available to all school age children. Based on minimum enrollment, different afternoon specialty classes will be offered each week with our wonderful teachers. These classes are available without mornings. Please select your top 3 choices.
Afternoon Specialty Classes - Different afternoon specialty classes will be offered each week with our wonderful teachers. Some examples to pick from will be Art with Math, American Sign Language, Dance Dance Dance, Fit/Food/Fun, Hello New Writer, Kids CSI Science Investigators, Make My Book, My Store, Outdoor Sports, Playfull Performances, Puppet Play Craziness, Rock Hounds of Nevada, Tie Me Up With Knitting and Wild with Nature. You can add this on to mornings for just $70 a week. This class is available without mornings for $110 a week.
Field Trips: Each week we will explore the community through fun and educational trips. We may car poo, walk or ride the bus to get to our trip location. Field trips will be offered to enhance the summer weekly curriculum and classes. Some field trips may include city parks, bowling, ethnic restaurants, movies, museums, planetarium, the public library, Pump It Up, roller skating and Sparks Marina.
Please Note: Please pack snack, lunch and drinks for the children each day and keep updated on what the children may need for the field trips and events of the week. TLC children do not go on field trips. Some field trips will have extra cost. All Classes are subject to minimum enrollment.
