MAIN CAMPUS - DAILY DRESS CODE AND UNIFORMS:  Uniforms will be worn on Wednesdays and on ALL field trips. Wednesday Uniforms for boys are navy pants with white collared shirts. Girls wear dresses or skirts with a white collared shirt.

Students must follow our dress code on all non-uniform days, which include navy or khaki pants with a red, white, or navy collared shirt. During the Parent Reception on the first day in the Great Room there will be used uniforms for sale. After the first day, inquire in the office for used uniforms.

An additional uniform option for upper grade girls is a gray skirt and wine colored polo from Dennis Uniform. Skirts/shorts must cover the lower torso with no skin showing between your top and skirt. Skirts/shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length; no short skirts, and no exposed undergarments. The dress/skirt can be ordered from Dennis Uniform Company at dennisuniform.com (our school code is WoPBRO, or use our link from our web page).  A catalog can be picked up in the office.

The upper grades P.E. uniform for Lakeridge is a red T-shirt (logo optional) with navy blue shorts. Brookfield collared shirts are acceptable. P. E. clothes are brought to school in a gym bag for Lakeridge students only. Shoes should have closed toes. Sandals and high heels are not allowed. Sneakers must not leave black marks on the floor. Brookfield P.E. students may stay in regular daily uniform. Lands’ End, for dress code with logo, can be reached at 1-800-469-2222: www.landsend.com/uniforms. (Preferred School #9000-6177-1, Logo # 0111140K) All sweatshirts or sweaters worn on campus must be red or navy.  Heavy coats worn outside can vary in color, but must be removed during class. Students are asked to comply with the dress code as soon as possible.  Parents and students are asked to pay closer attention to appropriate dress this year.

You may order milk for .50 cents a day; Mon.-Fri. September’s charge is $9.50, which includes Fridays. The yearly rate is $90.00. This can be added to your bill, or make a check payable to “Brookfield School”.  Please remember there are no refunds for absences.

CATERED HOT LUNCH PROGRAM:  (

ENRICHMENT FEE AND SPECTRA ART PROGRAM:
We need parent volunteers in each class to help with the Art Program (1 hour, twice a month to setup and clean up). We will schedule classes starting as soon as possible around the Art Teacher’s and Parent Volunteer’s schedules.  Funding for materials and supplies is included in the enrichment charge on Oct. 1st.  Please support art in our school!

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS:  The list of enrichment programs and clubs will be posted after all parent volunteers and teachers are enlisted for  programs such as; Digital Photography, Sewing Class, Musical Instrument Lessons, Voice Lessons, Choir, “Little Tennis,” Ballet,  TaekwonDo, Chess Club,  “Mud Puppies Clay”, Drama, Spanish, French, or “Tumblebus.” All are welcome to come and try the classes for free on the first day.  Sign up forms will be available at the parent reception on the first day of school and in the office thereafter.

MATH LAB AND READING LAB / TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM:  We will have math and reading labs again this year! Details, costs, and schedules are to be announced.  All new computers and printers have been purchased for classrooms and labs.  The Gifted Youth Math program from Stanford University (EPGY, a multimedia computer-based distance-learning course) will be offered again this year, but the program is on-line again.  Any students wishing to participate will have to meet our entrance requirements.  Limited enrollments are available.

We like to welcome back our Librarian, Mrs. Snyder, to assist students with their reading selections. Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Friedlander will schedule an informational meeting for the parents on the Accelerated Reading Program which is now ON-LINE.  Students can read over 11,000 titles!

PTA FAMILY MEMBERSHIP:  If you are wondering how to become involved in your child’s school year, joining the PTA is a great beginning. Membership costs $20.00 per family. The PTA is very important to our Brookfield community. They meet monthly and do so many wonderful things to benefit your child, and their classroom. They fulfill teacher wish lists and volunteer time in such programs as: Library, Skiing, and Hot Lunch. These charges are NOT on your August bill, and payment is your choice. Make it clear on your check what programs you have chosen so it is properly credited.  PTA annual dues ($20.00) are made out to “Brookfield PTA”.

OPTIONAL STUDENT ACCIDENT INSURANCE:  If your child needs coverage, student accident insurance is optional at $50.00 for the year. This medical coverage will pay for any injury to the child during the school day. The insurance enrollment period is during the month of September. This item can be added to your bill, or make a check payable to “Brookfield School.”
