Spring Break Vacation Camp was a BLAST!   We made so many art projects and cooking projects, there are too many to list!  On Friday, we did an egg hunt using the eggs we painted, and the paper mache baskets we created!  We also went on two field trips off campus, with the older students enjoying an additional field trip, to Magic Carpet Golf!

MUD PUPPIES CLUB CHANGES: There are now two classes:

TUESDAYS: 3:45-4:45 for 5th-8th grades only.  This is an ADVANCED Mud Puppies class, exploring the limitations of clay, providing older students the opportunity to build what they first create in their imaginations.

FRIDAYS: “Traditional” Mud Puppies (all grades welcome).  1:15-2:15 p.m.

April classes are a total of $33.00.  After April, classes will be $40. per month or $11.00 drop-in rate.  Call Jessica Seidl at 232-6274 with any questions.

Classroom Change- We would like to introduce Mr. Trevino, Mr. T’s son, as a new teacher to Brookfield ’s 1st grade.  We apologize for the mid year change but we were also taken by surprise.  However, we are excited to fill the position with such a fantastic teacher.  Mr. Trevino has filled in for us in the past and student taught 3rd grade.  Please join us in welcoming him to our school.

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students, A big thank you to all who helped or bought books at the Book Fair.  Our school made $1,628.26, which will go to our library.  We are up $750.00 in sales from last year!

INVENT EVENT/SCIENCE FAIR: Mark your calendar!  Science Fair and Invention Convention is on Thursday, March 29th at 5:00 p.m. Pre1st-3rd students have started the invention process and 4th-8th grade students have started their science experiments or inventions. 

Display boards are available in the office for $6.00, and should be neat, have “eye appeal” and all items should be labeled.  

All students have an “Inventor’s Log” or “Experiment Log”.  This should include all materials and costs involved in making your invention, acknowledgments for any help with this project (Thanks to my parents for taking me to the store, helping with the power saw, etc.) and your survey or invention workbook.  Other information may be included.

As careful as we are, accidents happen at school.  We need a change of clothes fort every student so we can care for them when these accidents occur.  Please check with your teacher to make sure they have a change of clothes, and for students who have borrowed clothes, please return them ASAPThanks!

Dr. Seuss’s party last Friday was a great success!  Thanks for your participation.

This week we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Friday, so wear green and look for the leprechaun traps!

Family night is TOMORROW (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m.  All parents and children are invited to attend; attendees will receive a free homework pass for all who come.  All students must be accompanied by an adult.  Light refreshments will be served.

Book Sales continue today through this Friday.  Sales are before school 7:30-8:30 a.m. and after school Mon-Thurs. until 4p.m. and Fri. until 2p.m. You may also purchase books at our family night, TOMORROW from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

PARENTING CLASS:  We will be offering a Love and Logic class in the Spring.  This class has been taken by several staff members of both campus, and is recommended for parents, nannies, extended families, and anyone who is responsible for child care of ALL AGES.  More information will go home as the date approaches.

MAIN CAMPUS NEWS:

 

INVENT EVENT/SCIENCE FAIR: Please mark your calendar!  Science Fair and Invention Convention will be on Thursday, March 29th at 5:00 p.m. Pre1st-3rd students have started the invention process and 4th-8th grade students have started their science experiments or inventions.  Details for the display board that needs to be completed will be on a separate letter, sent home today.

Wechsler Intelligence Scale- 4th edition (IQ) tests are in! Please sign up in the office if you wish your student to be tested.  Mr. Lienau will administer these tests for $300.00 per student.  Available to all students, Pre-First thru Eighth grade.

Field Trip forms have gone home, for students in 2nd-8th grades, to visit Velocity Sports Performance.  Velocity conducted a 6 week program with our students recently, and would like your children to see everything they do!  Please return your form to your teacher as soon as possible.

Please remember that the 6th -8th grade study hall takes place in Room #13, from 3:30-4:30 p.m., with Mrs. Amira.  3rd-5th grade will begin at 3:45p.m.

Please make sure you are not double-parking or blocking anyone when dropping off or picking up your child, even for just a moment.  If there are no spaces in the front parking lot, please drop off your child in the back.  Many people have been unable to leave for work or other activities due to double-parking in the front!

TLC CAMPUS NEWS:

 

Last Friday, several staff members were able to attend a training conference put on by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  Thank you to everyone who tried to find alternative care for their children, making this staff training possible for so many.  We were very pleased and found it to be an enlightening experience.

 

RE-ENROLLMENT: There are still spaces left in most classrooms for next school year.  Please sign-up soon to reserve your spot!

 

BOOK FAIR: Please remember to stop by the Book Fair on Main Campus, now through March 9th.  Refer to the front page of this newsletter for more details.

 

MOMMIES AND ME:  New session! Mommies and Me is designed to get children, aged 18 months to 3 years, excited about coming to school.  It teaches pre-literacy through nursery rhymes, song, and developmentally appropriate stories.  Open-ended art will also be included.  If interested, please call TLC. 825-3003.

 

SPRING PICTURES with BUNNIES!  For those that would like to have their child’s picture taken with the Spring Bunnies, make sure to come to class on March 14th or 15th. Pictures will be taken at 9:30 a.m. each day.
