Jan. 10, 2008 RE: New York/Washington DC for 8 Days/7 Nights 2008! Dear Potential Traveling Family, I will be leading a small group of students, families and friends (8-14 people) from Brookfield School to New York, Washington DC, designed by Brookfield School as an educational trip. I have chosen centrally located hotels for easy and fast access to sites, with Breakfast in the hotels for convenience. We can custom design this trip for your personal site-seeing and shopping desires. Web sites are listed for details on the hotels. We depart Thursday, Mar. 20th – and return Thursday, Mar. 27th, 2008. The estimate cost for a student with triple/quad occupancy is $1,797, per person and for an adult or student with two persons in a room is $2,135 per person. This includes hotels breakfast, air, lodging, some transportation (to and from airport, train to DC), some entrance fees, and some local tours. Travel money will be needed for lunch, souvenirs, dinner, and some fees. The additional is estimated at $70 - $100 per day, per person. Cost upgrades on first class air and single rooms can be given for this trip if you desire. Upper grade students may travel without parents. Our program includes structured and unstructured days, sightseeing trips, excursions, walking tours and many exciting local activities. We have custom designed this trip so individuals can choose to opt out of any tours to enjoy unstructured days. Our 8 day trip will include tours on foot, boat, bus, and train. In New York for 2 nights, we can visit the World Trade Center site, Central Park, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rockefeller Center, Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, and “Legally Blonde” a Broadway show. In Washington DC for 5 nights, we can visit all the memorials, Arlington Cemetery, Mount Vernon, The Capital, National Archives, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, Ten Smithsonian Museums, and the Holocaust Museum. Enclosed is a tentative itinerary. We can customize our schedule with any other suggestions. Any families that can help put in a word for securing a White House Tour or with our Congressmen please contact Mrs. Johnson. This will be an opportunity for our group to study the many stages of American History and Government. ONLY $40 non-refundable deposit is required ASAP. Please call the office with the names of the travelers and we will charge your account. Full purchase of the airline ticket will be expected in January.
