WELCOME BACK BROOKFIELD PARENTS!

A Letter from the PTA

 

Welcome back to our returning Brookfield families, and a warm welcome to families joining our Brookfield community!  I hope you all had a restorative summer and are excited about the upcoming school year.

 

The PTA is an organization made up of Brookfield parents whose efforts directly benefit our school, teachers and children.  We are responsible for three fundraisers and organize several fun annual events, noted in the calendar and volunteer sign up sheet – more details about all of these events will be forthcoming.

 

The PTA officers and Brookfield directors have identified four goals for the upcoming year:

• increase PTA membership (parents, teachers, grandparents, administrators, etc.)
• increase parent involvement (target of 2-3 volunteer hours per parent per year)
• improving communication between school and home (including a new back-to-school night at both campuses)
• a fundraising goal of $15,000 for improvements in classroom technology and campus security.

 

Any PTA is only as strong as the parent community that supports it, and these are lofty goals. But we believe the Brookfield parent community can achieve these goals, which is why we are asking each parent to consider becoming a PTA member to have a venue to voice your opinion, express fresh ideas, and most of all help shape your child’s or children’s educational future.  We are also encouraging each parent to find an event or program that you believe makes a difference and volunteer 2-3 hours during the school year in support of it.  However you choose to participate, through volunteering or contributions, everything you do is greatly appreciated by the whole community.
