WELCOME BACK BROOKFIELD PARENTS!

A Letter from the PTA

 

Welcome back to our returning Brookfield families, and a warm welcome to families joining our Brookfield community!  I hope you all had a restorative summer and are excited about the upcoming school year.

 

The PTA is an organization made up of Brookfield parents whose efforts directly benefit our school, teachers and children.  We are responsible for three fundraisers and organize several fun annual events, noted in the calendar and volunteer sign up sheet – more details about all of these events will be forthcoming.

 

The PTA officers and Brookfield directors have identified four goals for the upcoming year:

• increase PTA membership (parents, teachers, grandparents, administrators) from 49% to 60%
• increase parent involvement (target of 5-10 volunteer hours per parent per year)
• enrich the school environments by dedicating $5,000 towards extracuricular events (traveling authors, theater groups, etc) to support a well rounded education.
• raise $50,000 for improvements towards campus security and indoor/intramural sports (a new multi-use gym floor in the Great Room, indoor basketball hoop, climbing wall, sound attenuation light protectores and mirrors for dance) at Main Campus. At TLC, money will go toward a Bright Link Interactive projector and playground improvements.

 Any PTA is only as strong as the parent community that supports it, and these are lofty goals. But we believe the Brookfield parent community can achieve these goals, which is why we are asking each parent to consider becoming a PTA member to have a venue to voice your opinion, express fresh ideas, and most of all help shape your child’s or children’s educational future.  We are also encouraging each parent to find 1 or 2 events that your believe make a difference and volunteer 5-10 hours during the school year in support of it.  However you choose to participate, through volunteering or contributions, everything you do is greatly appreciated by the whole community.
