Hi! My name is Jeff Weinert. I have lived in the Carson/Reno area most of my life where I acquired a degree in biochemistry / minor in chemistry. While working in medical research for six years, I started volunteering for elementary education. I found more passion in education so I then went to get my accreditation and a master's degree in science education. I have since taught science for the past 10 years, first beginning at the high school level (environmental, inquiry, chemistry, AP chemistry) and then at the college level at TMCC (cell biology, human anatomy/physiology).

Hello!  I'm Katie Rhodes, the art teacher, after school programs director, and ski coach.  I
am pleased to say this is my first year teaching at Brookfield, with the best job title I could
ever ask for.  I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Interdisciplinary
Visual Arts.  I earned my teaching credential from Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, and
I am currently working on my masters.  I live in Truckee, CA where I mountain bike in the
summer and ski at Squaw Valley during the winter.  I am also a PSIA level II certified ski
instructor and occasionally compete in big mountain free skiing competitions.  I look forward
to the upcoming ski season with Brookfield students! Be ready for a spectacular year of fun
art projects and after school activities!
