August 15, 2008 As we wind down from our summer programs, we turn our attention to the first days of the new school year. Welcome all new and returning families. We are asking our returning families to offer help to anyone looking lost or confused on the first days of school. This year we continued two Preschool classes and three Pre-Kindergarten classes. A Mommies and Me class will be offered on Thursdays and a wait list has been started for future sessions. On your first day Tuesday, September 2nd, the school will operate normal hours of 7:30a.m.- 6:00p.m. You and your child are invited to one of two “meet your teacher” parties and parent information meetings. The first will begin at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd, for Tuesday/Thursday and full time children. We are delaying the start to allow main campus children to begin their day. On Wednesday, September 3rd, the party will start at 9:00a.m. for the M/W/F and any remaining full time parents and children. If you have a conflict, or can’t remember your child's schedule, choose the best day for you to attend. · On Tuesday, September 2nd, from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m., we will have the first “Meet Your Teacher” Party and Parent Reception. · On Wednesday, September 3rd, from 9:00a.m.-10:00a.m., we will have the second “Meet Your Teacher” Party and Parent Reception. During these Parent Meetings, refreshments will be served by your PTA. Parents will have the opportunity to meet their child’s teacher, see the classrooms, sign up for volunteer opportunities, and meet administration. Enrollment information will be available for after school enrichment programs, such as Tumblebus, Little Tennis, Taekwon-Do and Ballet. On Thursday, September 4th, we will begin normal daily operating procedures. As you arrive at TLC, please enter through the front door and sign in. You may bring your child to class between 8:45a.m. - 9:00a.m.at no added charge. Before school care begins daily at 7:30a.m. If you arrive after 9:00a.m., your child may be escorted into their classroom by staff in order to avoid disturbing a class in progress. Most classes start after the children have had a chance to explore the classroom and interact with each other. See your posted daily schedule for details. You are free to observe your child as long as you feel necessary. Before you leave, please make sure the emergency phone numbers on your registration forms are correct. We understand that separation anxiety can be difficult at this age for both the child and parent. Our past experience has proven that most children acclimate very well to a classroom environment and quickly become involved in activities. Please tell your child that you will be back soon, and leave as quickly as possible to help with this transition. We assure you that if they are not adjusting well, we will contact you. You are also welcome to check on them any time by phone or return visit. Enclosed you will find: Important First Day Information, Supplies List, Staff List, Calendar, and the September Hot Lunch Menu. Please review “Welcome To Your First Day Procedures” very carefully. A 2008-2009 Calendar is also always available on the web at www.BrookfieldSchool.com. We are
looking forward to getting better acquainted with you and
your child during the upcoming school year. If you have any
questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 825-3003 for TLC or 825-0257
for the main campus. • FIRST DAY TLC As of (09/02/08)

If a lunch box contains suspicious allergens we will remove it and save it for you. If you are packing soy butter sandwiches, please label to inform the teacher. 2. Emergency Forms, Immunizations, and Physician’s Notes · All students must have a current immunization record on file before they can attend school. · Please turn in the immunization record to us by the first day of school. · We will verify that all necessary immunizations have been received. · If there are any missing immunizations, we will need for you to update them as soon as possible. · All students need a physician’s note (Well Baby Check) stating that your child may attend school. · PLEASE remember to check that all Emergency information, Allergy forms, and phone numbers are updated before you leave. 3. There is a $1.00/minute late charge for care after 6:00p.m. This must be paid in cash at the time of late pick up to the care provider that you have delayed. 5.
