As a child growing up in a family of educators, Mrs. Traci Thomas knew at a young age that teaching was her passion. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada-Reno in elementary education K-8 and her Master’s degree from Lesley College in curriculum and instruction. Prior to joining the Brookfield family, she taught grades 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th in the Washoe County school district for thirty years. She has even served as an instructional coach for other teachers and was the math instructional site leader. Mrs. Thomas’ educational goal is to provide each student with an equal opportunity to succeed by promoting intellectual growth, creativity, self-discipline, so that each student can achieve to his or her maximum ability. Mrs. Thomas and her husband are the proud parents of three children, a daughter, and twin boys. In her free time she enjoys walking/hiking with the family dog, golfing with her husband, cooking, and working out at the gym. She is excited and proud to call Brookfield her new home and to begin the next chapter of her teaching career.
