Philosophy

Brookfield School provides a setting where young people prosper in thought and imagination, in competence and character, as individuals, and as members of a school community. Brookfield School is committed to the overall success of each child.

To this end, we provide strong academic instruction in the basic skills as well as a wide variety of cultural and aesthetic experiences within a success-oriented program.

Brookfield School’s administration, teachers, and parents have a shared vision of an academically rich and rigorous, non-denominational educational program.

We believe that to educate is to do more than just teach. We have the flexibility to modify the curriculum to specific studies in response to individual in response to individual student learning styles.

History

Brookfield School opened in Reno, NV in 1978. Originally founded in Sacramento, CA in 1962, both campuses continue to serve the educational needs of their communities. Brookfield School (Reno) is an independent, co-educational day school of over 250 students from preschool through eighth grade.

The first Brookfield School in this area was in a church, moving to several churches in Sparks and then into Reno. Mrs. Osgood became headmistress for the Robinsons and purchased the school and moved onto the Southwest McCarran site in 1987.

In 2003, our preschool was moved onto another campus located one mile away to the east, on Redfield Parkway. This little campus is beautiful, newer, and designed for this age group. In 2013, we expanded our campus to include a new building adding classrooms and event space for middle schoolers.
